How to Use a Magic Eraser Sponge

1. Wet it. Dip the eraser in water and squeeze out the excess. Damp, not dripping.

3. Wipe down. Go over the area with a dry cloth to pick up the residue.

Where to Use It — and Where Not To

Safe on: painted walls (matt and emulsion), ceramic tiles, laminate, uPVC, glass, stainless steel, hard plastic, rubber shoe soles and car interior plastics.

Test a hidden area first on: glossy or satin paint, powder-coated metal, coloured laminate, and anything you’d be upset to dull.

Do not use on: car exterior paint, polished wood, high-gloss finishes, non-stick cookware, screens and displays, or leather.

Melamine foam is a very fine abrasive — it cleans by removing a microscopic layer. That’s what makes it brilliant on marks and wrong for delicate finishes. When in doubt, test first.
